This Sunday we concluded our "Change Makers" worship series with a focus on empowerment. We like heroes and we may even be tempted to buy into the so-called "Great Man Theory" (where someone is the "only" person that can fix our biggest problems). This often disempowers followers of Jesus, and enourages them to keep looking for the perfect leader. Jesus rather models shared leadership and encourages us to embrace the call to change the world to better resemble the one God desires for us ALL to flourish in.
