4th Sunday of Lent
Mar 30, 2025 • Rev. Aaron Hobbs
Today we continue to enter the story of the last week of Jesus' life on earth with an unnamed woman crashing a dinner party with an alabaster jar of expensive ointment to anoint Jesus' head. Those present complain about the wasted expense: "How dare she. That could have been sold and the proceeds given to the poor." But praises her and holds the woman up as an example worth remembering. This unnamed woman dared, but she is not the only woman who dared. This Women's HerStory Month we have honored countless examples in the Bible and throughout history of women who thankfully dared to stand up for love and justice.
