9th Sunday After Pentecost
Aug 10, 2025 • Rev. Aaron Hobbs
Jesus shares two of his parables (the mustard seed & yeast) on the Kindom of God. Pastor Aaron concludes his sermon today quoting Wendell Berry in “Manifesto: The Mad Farmer Liberation Front”: "So, friends, every day do something that won’t compute. Love the Lord. Love the world. Work for nothing. Take all that you have and be poor. Love someone who does not deserve it."
Because that’s what the Kindom looks like. Not glory. Not gold leaf. But mustard seeds and hidden yeast.
And the foolishness of ridiculous love that refuses to give up. May it break through in us.
